Get Ready for the Revelstoke Coffee House!

This Saturday, head on over to the United Church for the second Revelstoke Coffee House! The first Coffee House on January 22 was a resounding success, and this one promises to be another fun evening of heartfelt performances, big laughs, tasty treats and caffeine. It’s a $3 donation to get in, but I’m sure you can get that value out of lemon squares and rice krispie treats.

Performers can sign up starting at 6:30 - if you’re interested in playing, I’d suggest getting there before the 7:30 start time to make sure you get a spot. Here’s how it works: each performer (solo or group) gets to play for three songs or roughly ten minutes. Hang out in the green room and tune up before your set, and then come out to play for a captive, caffeinated and contented audience.

Each Coffee House showcases a feature performer who gets to rock a 45 minute set in the middle of the evening. This month we’re thrilled to have Maggie Davis - you may remember her from such things at the Sunday acoustic jam sessions at the Revelstoke Golf Club (haven’t been? GO! It’s awesome!), Last Drop open mic nights, the Big Eddy Pub, and anywhere you might spot a pretty lady playing great tunes on a guitar. She rocks, so you won’t want to miss her feature performance.

Organizer Denis Severino is no stranger to the Revelstoke music scene. He plays every Wednesday night at the Big Eddy Pub with the Coquihalla Highway Men and Woman, and every Thursday with Terry Dactyl & the Extinction. He’s also a great guitar teacher, so feel free to shoot him an email if you’re interested in lessons.
