Stoked Youth - a new Revelstoke Initiative

Stoked Youth is a new initiative launched by some intrepid peeps at Okanagan College. Over the next six months, they’ll be developing a Youth Action Plan for Revelstoke based on findings from a Community Youth Assessment and input from anyone between the ages of 15 and 30.

They’ve just launched the Revelstoke Youth Assessment Survey, and they’re hoping for a solid response. It only takes a few minutes to complete, so click on through. There is serious momentum in the Columbia Valley around youth issues at the moment, and we need to make sure we capitalize on this attention. Young people are not the citizens of tomorrow, we are active participants in our community RIGHT NOW, and our concerns and desires need to be heard and understood. This is a great opportunity for us to speak out about local issues that impact youth, and take on an active role in shaping our community for the future. The results of this survey will be critical in the development of a Youth Action Plan for Revelstoke that is truly representative of the young people that live, work, study and play here.

Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey, and encourage your friends and family (between the ages of 15 and 30) to do the same. There are many other ways to get involved as well, including attending Youth Initiative Committee meetings and participating in one of the YAPlan! upcoming focus groups. Here are some tentative dates for upcoming focus groups. Guess what? There’s free food at ‘em!
