The Freeskiing World Tour comes back to Revy!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately folks - winter has rolled in with full steam here in Revelstoke, and it was a hectic holiday season. I hope everyone has been having a blast playing outside. Big hugs go out to Simon Wex and Nate Martin who had to return to their respective cities yesterday; we thought of ‘em lots today as we rode the biggest day Revelstoke has seen in a few years. With 30 centimetres of fresh snow overnight, the stoke level was high as riders scored face shot after face shot. Lots of the mountain remained closed due to avalanche danger, so there will be fresh lines in the upcoming days as well.

The Freeskiing World Tour kicked off today at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Due to poor visibility, the competition was delayed after the women’s qualifiers, so the men’s qualifiers will take place tomorrow in Separate Reality. Check out the women’s results here. Congrats to Revy girls Tatum Monod and Nicole Derksen who both made it through to Day 1 of competition on Saturday.

With the FWT comes a bunch of great events in Revelstoke. Tomorrow night the Roxy Theatre is showing ski classic ‘Hot Dog’: dress in your finest retro gear to win prizes, and raise funds for local Revelstoke CARDA dog handlers - they are selling hot dogs for dogs and providing beer sales inside. Head to the Village Idiot after for a fondue and turtlenecks party. Tickets for the movie are being pre-sold at $10.00 at RMR Guest Services or at the Presentation Center at the corner of Mackenzie and 1st.
