This weekend, throw on your bathing suit and sunnies and head on down to the Last Drop for some beach volleyball! You still have one last day to register, so do it today!

On Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25, the Last Drop pub will be hosting a beach volleyball competition in the parking lot of the Powder Springs Inn at 200 3rd St. West. With sunny skies and skyrocketing temperatures expected, it’s going to be a fantastic weekend of fun in the sun!

The good folks at the Last Drop are brining in truckloads of sand to create this opportunity, to get on down today to register your team if you haven’t already done so. The tournament is open to teams of 2 for $25, and teams of 5 for $50. The tourney is taking place in a round robin style, so you will get to play all weekend!

Even more enticing? The parking lot will be licensed for the weekend, and it’s a great chance to get outside for ice cold beers on a hot summer weekend downtown.

Looking for some more information on what you can do to help curb our invasive weed problem? Here are some early steps for managing invasive weeds:

Learn how to recognize invasive weeds.

Do not plant invasive weeds or their seeds! While some of them might look quite pretty, they contribute

Pull isolated patches of invasive weeds and safely dispose of them.

Remove seed heads from larger patches of invasive weeds.

Make sure to remove weeds from under your vehicle

Check yourself and your pets for seeds, especially when leaving a weed-infested area
